Feedback from the team about the team building night has been really positive. They enjoyed themselves and liked the hands on experience of the night. There were lots of laughs, good food and the team all got to know one another better. The best dish element was good as it brought out the competitive streak in people and encouraged lots of banter. It was a very successful evening and I would not hesitate to recommend it to corporates looking for something, relaxed, good fun and a little different.

“Margaret is exceptional at getting people to bring out the best of their abilities. She will give every last second of her time to make sure you are getting the best of what she has to offer, be it a class at UmNumNum or the support at Cork Women in Business, Advice & Support.
I have had the pleasure of working with Margaret over this past year founding Cork Women in Business, Advice and Support Group. She is very determined in her approach to her own business and to the group. Her vision for CWiB was clear from the start, to help women like her, small business owners get the most of what is available to them, to get business owners to look at each other as support networks rather than possible competition. CWiB has gone from strength to strength as has UmNumNum.
I look forward to many years of thrashing out ideas with Margaret, getting great results every time.”

“Margaret has created a wonderful business with UmNumNum. She creates enjoyable experiences where you learn about food, how to make tasty snacks or meals, and best of all enjoy the fruits of your labour! What makes UmNumNum unique is the relaxed atmosphere of the classes and Margaret’s honest and warm style. I would recommend her classes for anyone who enjoys good company while learning about food. As I do a lot of work in the corporate world, I also believe her classes are an ideal alternative to the more predictable ‘teambuilding’ activities and would encourage companies to connect with Margaret.”

“Margaret runs a fantastic cookery school in Ballincollig suitable for all ages and all levels of cooking ability, could not recommend her highly enough, she is especially good when working with children”

“We sent our daughter along to one of Margaret’s cupcake baking classes.
She absolutely loved every minute of it.
Margaret is wonderful with the children, gets them fascinated in the baking and decorating for their cakes and sends them away having had a wonderful experience. The children also get a container of their own cakes too.
A terrific and fun thing to do with your little ones.”

“Margaret is great to work with either for her fun cookery classes or for special orders. She is creative, and offers superb value for money. I would highly recommend Margaret to anyone looking for informal cookery classes, expert tips in creating dishes that can be whipped up at home or those looking for gorgeous treats for parties.”

“We hired Margaret in September 2010 to provide “some nibbles” for the grand opening of our new wine warehouse in Cork.
Well, “some nibbles” turned into a gourmet banquet! Turning up with a massive spread of canapes, antipasto and various other hors d’oeuvres, our VIP guests were treated to the very best of local and international ingredients, expertly put together in imaginative and mouthwatering ways. My only complaint was that we had more people raving about the food than we did about the wine!!
Margaret is a true professional with a glowing passion for her subject – all things food – I’d highly recommend her services.” July 25, 2011

“UmNumNum classes are informal, comfortable and full of information. During the course you work “hands-on,” working side by side with Margaret, an experienced cook. Whether on your own or with a group of friends I can highly recommend UmNumNum for the useful tips, fun, and recipes that are easy to replicate.” March 18, 2011

“I attended one of Margarets cooking programmes based on a 5 course Italian meal. Not only did we get to see hands on how each course was prepared and cooked, but had the pleasure of eating it too, which proved to enrich the experience. The instructions that were provided were easy to follow, very well explained, and very straight forward.
I am looking forward to attending Margaret’s “Dinner Parties made easy” course soon, and have had the pleasure of having other meals and foods prepared by UmNumNum for catering purposes – second to none!
If you are fearful of preparing food for others, go straight to her website, and book a course. You will wonder why you were ever afraid of preparing food after attending one of her classes.
I have cooked my Italian feast twice since with complete success and confidence.” March 15, 2011

The Rack of Lamb is a thing of beauty, the herb crust its crowning glory. I just love this cut of meat but it is not without its hazards when cooking. Over cooking and under cooking being the main problems. Here is a guide to allow you to achieve the perfect result. I recommend [...]

I am fed up with the usual food that gets trotted out for the feast of St. Paddy. I am guessing the man himself was a bit of an adventurer and would approve wholeheartedly of me doing something a little different in his honour. I am doing something that should go down well with kids [...]

Growing up my Dad baked all the bread for family. He would do it in big batches that would keep us going for 2 weeks of school lunches and breakfasts with loaves emerging from the freezer every day or so. The best part of breadmaking day though, was the toutons. Toutons, or damper dogs, are [...]

I am a little bit of a prude when it comes to my pancakes. I like them with just sugar and lemon. No fancy bits or funny fillings. no toppings, sprinkles or other abominations. I am a solid fan of the old fashioned classic cos my motto is if it aint broke, don’t fix it!! [...]

When I was asked to write a guest blog post about foods from my childhood that conjure up distinctive emotions my mind was awash with ideas… Deciding upon just one to share was challenging to say the least! Foods and meals that immediately sprang to mind included an array, ones which I treasured and conjure [...]
